My Disto 4 is giving me error messages constantly.

Can someone recommend an outdoor laser measuring tool other than Disto? I just need basic feet and inch measuring. Nothing complex. No fancy features.

The problem I am finding with ads is that they do not always divulge if the device is for both indoor and outdoor use.

Thanks in advance.

Since 2007 all I've ever known is Disto, but, earlier this month, after going down the laser-measuring rabbit hole again, I picked up a Bosch GLM165-25G (green beam) for $117.64. The coolest thing about it is that giant green dot. I considered upgrading to the lithium battery version, but I wanted it to be as simple as possible.

There's way better stuff out there, but for the way I use it (to measure and scribble in a notebook--I never use Bluetooth, angles, or other architectural features), and considering the price, this was the best one.

I never use Bluetooth, angles, or other architectural features either. I am old school. I measure and write it on my folder.

So you find that it is accurate and easy to use?

My Disto 4 only last 4 years. I called Appraserlaser where I purchased it and they said there is no fix.

Is the Bosch for outdoor and indoor use?

bosch glm 150c. has a screen that will show you the x on the building. solves the bright sunny day, no can see dot. this has no bluetooth, has rechargeable batteries, but the price was pretty good.

AND yes the Bosch is probably better than my old Disto..which still works but I only carry as a back up

is the Bosch GLM 150c a step up from Bosch GLM165-25G or vice versa?

I've used it half a dozen times so far, including this morning. When I first started using, I also used my Disto E700i along side it to make sure it was OK. I found them the same, except, of course, I can see the green.

Other things I noticed right away were the haptic feedback (shakes the unit) and the sound. I turned off the shakes but kept the sound. I tooled through every setting option within an hour of sitting down with it--it's not at all complicated. The other thing I noticed was that it looks cooler than the older, boxy Bosch's.
