No frills outdoor laser measuring device

I carry a laser for short distances and a tape for everything else. Lasers that aren’t calibrated often aren’t accurate at longer distances. At least not to the 0.1’ that we have been told we have to pretend to measure to.

I've never used a laser device. How do you measure the flat front of a house? Can you just stand in front of the house and point at two targets and get the distance between the two?

I use a 100' tape for that. Or if I have my trainee with me, she can hold up the back of ipad...

if you angle the laser a little, over a distance it will not be 1/10 accurate. i like the laser for bump outs instead of taping. i do mostly row homes, tape measure is annoying inside a house.
