Oregon Doug, I suppose I am the only one that does not know, but, what is a GFI, Thank Wade

Wade,

GFI = Ground fault interruptor. A special circuit designed to prevent shocks in areas that are damp or wet or where you could stick your hand in or under water while holding an electrical appliance. They are basically super sensitive circuits that will "blow" the circuit breaker before you get a nasty shock. I'm sure you've seen them by pools, outside electrical outlets, in the bath and in the kitchen. The outlet can be a GFI by itself, or the entire circuit can be a GFI at the service panel breaker or one GFI outlet can control another outlet. GFI outlets usually have a "test"button on them so you can see if they work propery. For example, in my house, the GFI in the master bath room also controls the exterior outlet by the kitchen door. The GFI in the powder room controls the exterior outlet by the front door.

Ben V. I've heard of a lot of things but never GFI. Thanks for the info Wade

WHY ARE YOU USING A 3 PRONG TESTER? MY SURVEY OF ELECTRICIANS SUGGEST WE SHOULD NOT GET INTO THAT TYPE OF DETAIL... A SIMPLE NIGHT LIGHT TEST THAT SHOWS IT WORKS IT ENOUGH. YOUR 3 PRONG TESTER IS FOR AN ELECTRICIAN NOT AN APPRAISER.
