Have changed nothing in my CP, just stopped receiving E-Mails from new thread postings????

There is a problem with sbcglobal.net . They are rejecting all email sent from the forum. I have asked them to unblock us but they have not. Only when their customers complain loud enough will they allow email through from appraisersforum.com

If I was a sbcglobal customer I would be very upset that they decide what email I could receive and what I couldn't.

Thanks, will check into this because I'm also not receiving e-mails from other sites. Will post their response.

They said that you have been blocked from sending e-mails to sbcglobal.net, will not give reason. And need a ticket number or error number to continue???? So I can not receive any forum notices. I guess I could set up another email account with a different domain???

They did not even respond to my inquiry two days ago. It is not just us, it is wide spread blocking by sbcglobal.net, AT&T and Bellsouth. (they all use the AT&T block list).

I wouldn't stay with an ISP that decided which email I could receive and which I could not. Only when the users complain directly to their ISP will such censorship stop. It could also be costing you business! You never know what business you are losing if you don't get ALL your email!

So I would suggest you set up a Gmail.com account. They do not block email.

I agree about the censorship, however after several discussions with them (Att&t) today I was able to get them to take a look, and it is now working again.... Case# 168166189. The part that concerns me is who else did they block?

I don't know who all they blocked for sure. I have heard from fellow webmasters that some of their servers were blocked also. Some, but not all, of my servers were blocked. Who knows what email was lost and money lost due to their blocking?

I think that ISP's need to let the user descide what email they want to receive and not make the decision for them. This is the first time I have had that problem with sbcglobal, AT&T, and Bellsouth.

I have seen severe blocking problems with AOL! I advise anyone NOT to use AOL for any type of business email unless they want to flush a significant amount of money down the toilet!

Did you ask them who else they're blocking?

Here's the exchange I had with attyahoodslsbcglobaletaletcetc chat tech support

Cassandra Hall: We are aware of an issue with the AT&T/SBC email domains (Event #1032487). Some customers may receive a bounce back error when sending emails to AT&T/SBC domains. There is currently no Estimated Time for Repair (ETR) for this issue.Current/Possible workaround for this issue is to send an email to removeme@sbc.sbcglobal.net with a copy of the error and sending IP. You will receive a confirmation once it has been completely removed from the blocked list.
Cassandra Hall: Please ask them to forward the error message to the removal address

Meta: I can forward your message to the site admin. What other address are you blocking? I find the idea that you're blocking mail that's not spam quite objectionable.
Meta: I placed an order with an online vendor today and was expecting to recieve an order confirmation. I havent seen it yet.
Cassandra Hall: We are not blocking it, the server is refusing to accept the emails because they are being mistaken for spam. This is due to the recent server upgrade.

Meta I dont really care what you call it. I need to get my mail.
Cassandra Hall: That is the process in order for them to send you an email.
Cassandra Hall: WE do not have a control over the server.
Meta: Its not a att server that's identifying it as spam and blocking it?
Cassandra Hall: It is, I already gave you the best solution. If you don't want to do it. It's okay.
Meta: I've already forwarded your solution to the appraisersforoum site admin. What I'm concerned about is what other email I'm not receiving because of your server upgrade.
Cassandra Hall: We do not have any tool to check on that.
Meta Is there any chance you can transfer me to somebody who will share my opinion that that's an unacceptable situation.
Cassandra Hall: Please call us on this number, 1-877-722-3755.
Cassandra Hall: This is the case ID for your reference, 168230145
Meta I guess that's a no.
Cassandra Hall: That is the technical support number

Sounds like there's something there you can do to get the mail through. I'll have to call tech support tomorrow to get access for the rest of the WWW.

Thanks Meta,

Sounds soooo much like the conversation I had with my contact. I opened a Gmail account for this and other things anyway. I was also not getting mail forwarded from my web site submissions. Major Problem.....
