The GSEs don't do HELOCs. It is true that banks often use evaluations rather than appraisals for HELOC, but that is all about the IAEG and has nothing to do with GSE policies. When waivers were first being pushed they said they would be for very low LTV used mostly on Home equities. But like everything else, you can’t trust a word they say.
Do you see inherent risks? Simple question. Yes or no.The GSEs don't do HELOCs. It is true that banks often use evaluations rather than appraisals for HELOC, but that is all about the IAEG and has nothing to do with GSE policies.
I don't know, but I strongly doubt DWs job description has him issuing any waivers or setting any policies having to do with non-appraisals. He's too busy dealing with appraisals. And appraisers who are too stubborn to pay attention the first 5x they get told they need to do better.how many appraisals is DW going to waive today...and not follow USPAP...pretty ironic from the former asb![]()
