how many appraisals is DW going to waive today...and not follow USPAP...pretty ironic from the former asb:ROFLMAO:

When waivers were first being pushed they said they would be for very low LTV used mostly on Home equities. But like everything else, you can’t trust a word they say.
The GSEs don't do HELOCs. It is true that banks often use evaluations rather than appraisals for HELOC, but that is all about the IAEG and has nothing to do with GSE policies.

Do you see inherent risks? Simple question. Yes or no.

GSEs are not involved. Inherent?

I don't know, but I strongly doubt DWs job description has him issuing any waivers or setting any policies having to do with non-appraisals. He's too busy dealing with appraisals. And appraisers who are too stubborn to pay attention the first 5x they get told they need to do better.

might as figure more mortgage brokers do appraisals then appraisers....waive them all i say except marin city :ROFLMAO:

What is an appraisal waiver?

Appraisal waivers allow buyers who meet certain qualifications to skip the appraisal process when buying a home. For these qualified buyers, instead of requiring a professional in-person appraisal, the lender will typically rely on automated underwriting systems to determine the value of the home.

Being granted an appraisal waiver can save buyers money and time, since they do not have to pay for an appraisal and the closing process could be sped up. However, a professional appraisal is probably the most accurate way of determining a home’s value, so buyers who skip it run the risk of overpaying for the home.

independent appraisals don't cost money...it saves a whole lot of it :ROFLMAO:

As long as you persist in deliberately and dishonestly mischaracterizing non-appraisals as something they aren't then we might as well take that to its logical conclusion:

"if you won't do this assignment at this fee we'll just go find someone else who will"

Meet that someone else. Will "appraise" for less:
