12/21/07 (Details below are from the "Akron Beacon Journal")

17 people and 2 Akron companies face 147 counts.

( The companies were: Evergreen Investment, Evergreen Homes, & Carnation Banc.)

More indictment action expected across Ohio.

Two year investigation with 800,000 pages of documents & thousands of manhours.

4 appraisers indicted (Robert Kokai, Jon Schwinkendorf, Susan Bigley, & Joseph Pietro)

(Bigley is not listed on the ASC website. The other 3 are Licensed Residential.)

Pietro's attorney said "Pietro does 1600 appraisals a year and in four years he had done less than 50 for those involved in the indictment. Joe has been cooperating with the authorities since he was contacted in late 2006 and his indictment comes as a shock to him and myself. Joe did honest, by the book appraisals."

All it takes is one appraisal to be misleading, and possible fraud. Especially depending on license type (could be certified) appraising in the millions.

How could anyone possibly average over 4 appraisals per day?!

How could anyone possibly average over 4 appraisals per day?!

Rudolph and the Reindeer Assistants..... mixed with tons of ridiculous 2055's:icon_idea: :icon_idea:

Actually if you work 6 days a week and take no vacations, it is only 5.111821 appaisals per day. (But who's counting?) If each appraisal takes only 3 hours from start to finish, you have only worked 15.335463 hours per day. There's still plenty of time to eat, sleep, watch TV, enjoy life, and run an appraisal office.

At $300 per appraisal that would be an annual income of $480,000.

The other possibility is there's more than 1 person in the appraisal office and the lawyer is giving a total for the entire company.

I'm just waiting...I think this is the first of MANY!

I suspect that the state investigators are very busy nowa days :)

Page three; $70 million dollar guy is gone! I understand that suspension is the least of his worries now.
