Talk to an underwriter??? Why that is like speaking to God...you must first go through Jesus Christ ( the loan officer) who just thinks he is God.
Honestly....I have had underwriters tell me "I don't have time or energy to talk to appraisers!". The last one that did that was about 21 or 22 and had been in the business for all of a year. After all, what would someone with 22 years of appraisal experience know about the appraisal? Let me speak to your supervisor, I said. She said, why? I AM THE UNDERWRITER....AND I AM GOD!
I said.....Ok, fine...now let me speak to your supervisor! She hung up on me. My next call was to the HOC who's next call was to the Underwriter who's next call was to me saying "I am sorry, what was your question?".
Thus sayth the old guy...who knows he isn't God...the devil maybe but not God!
