PAREA program

IMO, there are some pretty crummy appraisers out there who were not trained by PAREA. A PAREA grad can't be any worse than some of the stuff I have seen. I hope.

So that's a good excuse to lower the barriers of entry to a pulse and working credit card with an $8000 or more limit?

Just making a comment. IMO. PAREA may be not better or worse than in person mentor based training. Think about it-if you have a crummy mentor, then you are getting crummy training. PAREA standardizes the training so it may be somewhat lacking (Maybe?) in real life experience, but its not going to give the trainee the bad habits a crummy mentor will give someone.

Fair enough, but who’s getting the $8000? After these folks graduate many of the states still don’t give them certifications, so where are they going to work? They’re gonna be offered $25/hr to work at 1 of the big 5 AMC‘s to work a staff which in turn makes the AMC’s more money. I’ve been seeing a trend in this profession that every new law, rule, and concept results in funneling money away from independent self-employed, businessman and into corporations. And it never ends.

This is the result of several decades of folks rotating positions in organizations and companies for the sole purpose of scratching each other‘s back. They barely even try to hide their malfeasance anymore.

The individual states are in the process of approving the program (or not). I have no idea where they will go for work, maybe just sign up with a bunch of AMCs and take all those super cheap orders?

Do not disagree with you second paragraph.

$25/HR but they will tell them they can complete reports in 30 minutes, so it is like $200/hr obviously.

the institute is leading the way...what could go wrong
