AVVENU definitely looks interesting. being able to have access to appraisal files from a cell phone out of town would be a big plus. all i need to do now if find time to go out of town.

I have a very dumb question. Using one of those programs--does the computer you are accessing have to be turned on? When I am not in my office, my computer is not turned on--our electricity is very unstable in my area so to be safe nothing is turned one when I am not here. So if I understand the process--if I am gone, I would need to call my husband (who doesn't answer the phone when I am not here) to turn on my computer (which he doesn't know how to run) and once he has listened to voice mail, then swore at my computer for awhile while attempting to turn it on--I could access my computer and work in my appraisal software on my computer from 1,000 miles away??? Aslo is the programs you are recommending down loaded to the home computer or the computer being used from 1,000 miles away?? I do not have a lap top and don't ever plan on buying one unless they come with a 19" or larger screen and a separate mouse (can't handle that little ball on the keyboard).

Jo Ann, the computer does have to be on, but there are companies that make devices to turn on the computer via a phone call, but I think you would find a high quality UPS that regulates the power a reasonable solution allowing you to leave the computer running. Have you looked at using a 17" laptop with a wireless mouse?

As soon as I determine which is the most affordable remote program I'm buying it. It seem every time I'm on vacation I get some kind of request for a follow up comment on a comparable.

I have been using gotomypc for years and love it. I tried pc anywhere and hated it.

I'll take another look at it gotomypc. The trial version I loaded was about 4-5 years ago so it must be improved by now. Thanks.

I use the free log me in version, it never expires.

so thats a savings of $179.40

Remote users...

We're discussing this feature in our office, but are unsure how this works with al a mode software, or if it will at all.

We're networked at the office, with the server holding the main program. However, according to the owner, each wkstation also has the program installed. All reports, photos, etc. are saved to one drive in the server.

So is it possible to access the report software remotely and actually do/complete reports that way?

What about multiple people trying to do this at the same time??

Any advice will be appreciated.

Dave
