This thread gathers comments directly from zone owners of Zaio's previous existance as "PhotoInfo" in Canada (1996 - 2000). New zone owners in Canada also welcome.

If you know any past or present Canadian zone owners, please feel free to encourage them to comment on their experiences.

This thread is not meant for posts about Zaio US, as that persists in dozens of other threads, associated with particular issues. The Canadian experience may be relevant to Zaio US, and those zone owners need a clear channel, an open door, let's make them feel welcome. The Zaio US experience may be very relevant to new Canadian activity, so the benefits from sharing information will be mutual.

There are no Canadian zone owners. There is no ZAIO Canadian business.
There was at one time a database of photographs of over 1 million Canadian homes that a few hundred photgraphers colaborated on. This was sold back in 1999 and as far as I know was never maintained. This first iteration of a photographic database did run into problems when this buyer and the photographers seemingly could not come to terms.
The data stagnated and was never maintained. The details? I do not know. The buyer was a private company. Since there are no Canadian zone owners and no Canadian business this should be the end of this discussion.

A least one regular forumite has spoken to persons involved in the Canadian project, and has noted it on these boards. The results weren't good.

That's an intriguing opinion. It's also an interesting use of the present tense, when people asking the questions are trying to find out about the past. It reminds me of one of our ex Presidents. :)

when this buyer and the photographers seemingly could not come to terms.
That's the information I have as well. One zone buyer(well, former zone buyer, because there "are" no zone "owners" now) says that after Stinson sold the company, the buyer could not make money. The buyer then announced there would have to be a change in revenue-sharing or he would scuttle the company. Zone holders would not agree to the new revenue split.

I will politely and compassionately disagree with you on whether zone owners ever existed in Canada. Others have stated Royal Lepage was involved. A private company, if involved, may have been an intermediary? Just as PhotoInfo may have had a sister company to do appraisals. I still need more information to clarify these things. I saw a document online yesterday indicating Stinson was working on appraisal software in Canada around the time or just before PhotoInfo. If some photographers lost database work, I wouldn't see relevance, but I think it's larger scale than that.

Square, Workbox et al,

This gentleman is in the banking/mortgage industry in Canada and indicates that there are no Canadian zone owners yet you won't believe him either.

What's next, floating the idea that Stinson had them all silenced and they're buried in mass grave in Calgary?

Others quibble with the use of the present tense. Clearly this use of the present tense must be his attempt to hide the truth and mislead, undoubtedly at the behest of Zaio. Is he a plant as well?

This thread should be put to rest, but knowing you guys it will survive for another week with conspiracy theories and parsing of every word in dtrimble's post.

While I know you don't believe what he states here, note that it was a collaboration of photographers, not appraisers.

dtrimble, thanks for you info though undoubtedly it will be lost on most of the crowd here.

Everyone here is already aware that Stinson's first company went down the tubes and those who bought zones own nothing of value. No one refused to believe him.

I already posted that his information confirms my information. Please stop distorting the facts.

And yet another attack on the forumites.

He didn't say never existed. He said doesn't exist now, which we already knew.
