Ryan,

I thought that ACI's mobile software was only on the Palm OS. They have a mobile software that runs on a Pocket PC OS?

they have two different versions, I forget the name for the palm but for PPC its called pocket zoo.

I too use a pda and wouldnt do an inspection without it, I find it saves time at the office AND at the inspection...I use the Ipaq rx3715, so it has a built in camera as well, I also use the disto plus w/bluetooth....so measuring is a breeze...I have the disto on a little pouch velcroed to my belt and the pda I hold...no camera, pen, measuring stick, nothing. I have the pocket zoo software but found it WAS time consuming, however mobile sketch works wonders, I have my entire sketch complete except having to move the placement of labels around a bit when I get back to the office. Other than that, Im in and out and on to make more money :new_multi:

Justin:

Thanks for the kind words on MobileSketch for the Pocket PC - we call that product "MSP" vs "MSTT" for the Touch/Tablet version. Anyway, check your version number (File|About) to make sure you have the latest and greatest version. The most recent published version is v2.8.180.0, dated 06/30/2006 and is a free update for anyone running v2.x. I realize that you do not use a high resolution Pocket PC and this is one of the further tweaks in v2.8 over some earlier versions, but it also includes some bug fixes, some enhancements and now support for the new DISTO™ A6. Of course, it still works with your DISTO™ Plus, but the update should be free for you so if you don't already have it, go get it... :-) http://tinyurl.com/oed6e

Hope this helps! Let us know how we can improve our products.

Glad to help Justin! Wow, all the way back to '04? I guess we need to do a better job of letting people know about this sort of thing. A lot of people write in with constructive criticism, ideas for features, tweaks, etc. and we do our best to get them in the program, but what good are they unless we let everybody know, right? FWIW, there is a sign up thing on our site (be sure to go to the US site) where we will keep you notified of updates, upgrades, etc. You can get to it at www.apexwin.com and/or on the new product announcement page at: http://tinyurl.com/pj7v9 You'll note that this is just a products announcement site and also shows other stuff we do, some Apex office shots, etc. Have fun and look around there. I believe the sign up page is under the "Get Medina News" link. Oh, BTW, the hip hop music will automatically fade after a few seconds so if you want to look at the videos (Medina with Nexus) you'll want to make sure your sound isn't muted. We're toning down the site soon - this was just something for fun - so it won't be so "in your face" when we open up the site officially.

Let us know how you like your new version of MobileSketch and what we can do to make it work better for you. Constructive criticism is always welcome!
