Please read the FAQ via the link at the top of the page first before posting a question or problem.

Then if you can not figure out the answer post a reply to this thread and I will answer it if I can!

Wayne, a lot more to deal with here but, I'll get used to it. Seems much more capable. You might mention to folks on the old forum to read the FAQ on the new forum also.

Bruce, I did!

Anyway, I haven't decided on this, just testing it. I personally like it because the forums I visit (web hosting talk, tech. stuff, things like that) all use similiar software.

This has so much more possibilities, such as user groups, private messaging, user choices of whether or not to display email, easier administration of forums, less prone to spam posts, and on and on.

Does not have spell check however. If we decide on this I will figure out a way to incorporate the spell check from the old board into this.

Thanks for your comments.

Wayne;

I cannot seem to locate the referenced 'how to' on BBCode, the "Find a real estate appriaser" appears to jam if nto entirely lock up, and when I tried to e-mail you I wound up with a message sent to self!!

other than that well I will learn!

Wayne,

Hmmm, doesn't look too hard to get a handle on, and it does seem to offer a lot more flexability  Keep us posted as to what you decide. I'm addicted to this forum

The "code" is put in place by the buttons above the posting box. In other words the "B" the "i" the "u" "Quote" buttons, etc, just like in your email program if you use HTML email.

The reason you sent an email to your self (as well as me) was because when you sent the email you left the box checked that said "send a copy to myself".

I didn't experience any problems with the "Find appraiser" feature from AppraiserUSA.com, I guess your connection timed out or something because it works for me.

Wayne, how can I change my user name and keep my same password? Looked under FAQ but couldn't find out how.

You can't change a user name. Why would you want to?

Anyway, if you're not happy with Blue1 just register as a new user and I will delete Blue1.

Dear Wayne:

The last time I was on this website you had the old forum. I really liked the topics and there were too many I wanted to read for my time constraints. Now that I have returned to finish reading them the only way I can apparently get to them is fill in search words. How do I know what search words to use, when I don't remember all of the interesting topic that I wanted to come back and read?

Isn't there a way to list an index of the old forum posts like before so I can pick and choose which topics I want to read like before?
Frankly, the new topics in this new forum are not any where near as interesting as the old forum topics and information.

I like the new software and I can see how it will be better, but in appears you are burying really good topics and posts in the process.

Please let me know how to access the old forum index.

Thank you,
Ruth Potulin

The old forum had no topics. Just endless posts, one on top of the other with no organization. The new board is arranged into different Forums so one can pick their area of interest and skip the rest. Sorry there are over 30,000 posts on the old forum and to put them all in an index would be pointless, as it would be unmanageable and difficult if not impossible to navigate. If you want to search for something, just put the a search word in the search box and it will turn up.

Besides on the old board only the last 7-10 days worth of posts (around 2,500) were browseable anyway. The rest were in the archives just like all of them are now.

As I said the old posts are available. The same people are posting on the new board and the new posts will be just as interesting if you're just into browing and not looking for anything specific. The great thing about the new board is, that when we get to 30,000 post and beyond, it will be manageable and you will be able to browse the posts. Given our present posting rate the 2,500 posts that were available in a browseable format on the old board will be exceeded here sometimes next week. From that point on we will have many more posts that you can browse than were available on the old board.
