Price range for active listing on MLS

They are existing single unit residences. The example address is stated above.

correction: An example address and how it will display in MLS is: 1234 Aardvark Street, Timbuktu, for sale, active: $500,000 - $550,000. A website such as Zillow or real estate sales website will always pick the higher range number such as $550,000 as the listing price.

Didn't find that address on either Zillow or Redfin.

I've never seen a range before. My guess is that the range is appearing now as a result of the commission changes. I would call the agent to verify and then determine what the list price was, assuming the seller paid both sides (e.g., use the high number). Then I would explain the range and my findings from the realtor discussion in the comments.

Why the secrecy. How about a real address

As you requested here's an actual address: 20372 Crooked Branch Street, Riverside, CA 92507, listing price: $799,900 - $889,000.

So it's not just n/c. I suspect CG is right - it probably has to do with the new commission rules. Upper end is reserved for if the seller is paying the entire commission., but even then - something doesn't add up. 6% of $890k is only $53.4k. Very strange. Thankfully that hasn't happened in TX yet.

Must be a private member only view. Every other site shows the high end (including Realtor.com and local agent sites).

Redfin and Zillow both pull that listing up as $889,000 when I checked them as well.

Ask a few of the RE agents with the range listings their opinion. The higher price on Zillow etc is one trend you can cite.
