win2000, printing to a NEC through a Linksys printserver, thence through a Netgear switch and Netgear Router...
~~~
OK So the new hard drive is a whirring and hubby confuser guru has worked out most of the hitches and I got some of the rest of the burrs out from under the saddle....
But the DAMN thing keeps printing to the multipurpose tray holding the expensive legal paper as default instead of the 500 sheet cassette cheap 8.5x11.
Unless each and every :evil: time I print I remember to manually switch the "print to" from under the FILE menu.... which I don't, anddon't want to HAVE to :evil:
I have rummaged through every setting from the printer side of things and it SHOULD "automatically select" the darn paper but even if I set it to 500 sheet cassette it keeps defaulting to "autoselect" which spits out legal...
Anyone have any ideas where the other switch or setting is hiding? or where else to look?
- In Windows 2000 you can set the default settings for your printer : (Start, settings, printer, properties of your printer, paper - papertray.
- If this settings doesn't give satisfaction, the printer driver is suspected : try to download an original driver (for win 2000) from the NEC website for the appropriate printer.
Regards, hugo
Thanks will try new driver... I figured hubby did that :oops:
Tweaking printer settings from 'settings' end doesnt' solve problem... :?
I am no guru :(
