OK - so, working from the idea that all good little FHA appraisers should have some proof in their workfile that the case # was really assigned them rather than just trusting a note from the MB.......

What is the best "proof" of that assignment?

I've been getting faxed copies of an email entitled "Case Number Assignment Results" - getting this document (or any "proof" at all) has been like pulling teeth. Every MB/lender I have requested this from has been pretty much baffled. Not really unwilling to provide proof - just not sure what qualifies.

I personally do not like the "Case Number Assignment Results" as it contains the borrower's SS#s and they are rarely blacked out. (I black them out before putting them in the file, but still...)

What have my esteemed peers been doing?

Personally, I'd love a nifty little database that we could log onto and check.

I know that whoever ordered the appraisal assignment from FHA Connection would be able to provide you with something - not sure if there is something better :)

I always insist on the case assignment sheet from the FHA Connection. It is really the only thing we have to go by. Of course, if they don't like your appraisal, they can always trash can it and assign it it another appraiser.

It depends on which client I am doing the appraisal for.
