UPDATE -
I called Volusia county and was told without a last name, I have no hopes in attaining the information. I found a withdrawn listing and called the agent who was kind enough to pull the file and give it to me (luckily he is a nice guy). So, now I am going to do a clerk of courts search and see what i can come up with. Hopefully I will be able to get the correct info and cya myself the rest of the way.
FYI - the owner is a law enforecement officer but the house is being foreclosed as a result of a divorce where they could not come to terms and are just letting it go (per my nice realtor).

ask the bank to provide a copy of a title report

ask the bank to provide a copy of a title report

What's the title report going to provide that's of any use to the appraiser other than the legal description and the address which one can probably already figure out by driving by to obtain the address, and pulling the properties on either side of it to come up with a pretty good legal description WHICH I WOULD CAVEAT as to how you got it.

You probably stand a better chance of just knocking on the door, or leaving your business card with a note.

You can use the Iris Maps and get the info. You have to put in an address on the same street and try to find your property from the map page. When you find your property select that parcel and you can get all the info even if they are not listed in public record.

"I don't even have the current owners last name to do a search for sales on the internet thru the internet." A title report determines who owns title

Most law enforcement employees, politicians, judges, FBI/CIA etc...are not included in the tax rolls, per the Florida Statutes. .....

In Volusia, any county employee can be hidden. Used to be a bunch of ways to back into the record, but most of them have been closed.

Iris does not show the property. This one is really hidden. I have the names of both the husband and the wife, luckily, the house is only 2 years old and they are the only owners.
www.myfloridacounty.com is a new resource for me.
I also found records on the Volusia county site. I will be describing in my report exactly how and where I found my data as my CYA.

Still have not heard from India with what to do on this....I doubt they get it at all.
thanks for the input

If you know the address of the house next door to your subject, in both Counties I work, you can bring up the parcel number off the Tax Map. Once you know the parcel # for your subject, you can probably bring up the info. The parcel info is just excluded from the search functions, not the database.

Now as an aside, NO Law enforcement officer should be paid so poorly that he can face losing his home. That sucks.

They're not and pay has very little to do with ones overall financial health.

Even the title report is only as VALID as of the DATE and MINUTE it was completed. Don't you people realize that you can have someone at the courthouse recording another deed while another closing is going on simultaneously? You don't think that happens?

That's why you deed sleuths are wasting your time for the most part, IMO.

That's why title INSURANCE is the next best thing to whole wheat bread.
