This is a very unusual home. It was a barn built from stone in 1920 with a full basement. People bought it and made it into a house. Used very high quality materials inside. The cost to renovate the property was nearly 800,000. I can rate the interior clearly as Q1. But the exterior still looks pretty much like the old barn in terms of the facade. Of course you would never be able to build the outside with these kinds of materials today. It would cost a fortune. But it still looks like an old barn. So to me it's a Q1.5. I have included an exterior picture.

Opinions wanted.

Wow - that is beautiful. I surely can not be objective, having lived in a beloved old converted barn myself for many years. I see no problem with the Q2 rating. The structure is obviously not similar to a tract home. I would also consider the age of the property. Do you folks have historic home designations there? This looks like a historic structure that would be seriously harmed by slapping 2014 stucco and paint all over it. Just my opinion as to how my market might react to it.

You can't believe the inside of this. The island counter top cost 15,000. The hardwood is imported from France. Everything is custom crafted on the interior. I would be crazy to give this a Q3. And you are right this is an historic and VERY unusual barn. It's one of a kind. You don't see these kinds of structures as CindyR stated. Also although it is old EVERYTHING has been reinforced and brought up to structural code.

Since the overall contention is that it's not Q1 I'm going with Q2 and realize that you who said Q3 have no clue what you are talking about because you haven't had the privelege of seeing the interior.

I'm leaning Q3 or less. It's possible that you are biased because you HAVE seen the inside. I mean, you could ordain a straw hut with Q1 interior features but it's still a straw hut. It does sound very cool and would love to tour the home but maybe not appraise it. Good luck HSH!

Quality.....the quality of those exterior walls is not the same as the age, or appearance. The roof is a metal roof, three times the cost of a shingle roof.

For those saying Q3, why?

Tons of functional obsolescence...that's all I can see
