Question for HUD/FHA

BTW, I expect a revision to the idea of Certified only before October 1, 2009.

The FHA will surely do its best to have this modified as it is obvious that the FHA has no intention of enforcing the law as it was written seeing how the law states that all FHA have to performed by certified appraisers after 10/1/2008. It is pretty amazing that the FHA could just decide to ignore the clear effective date in federal legislation and delay enforcing federal law for 1 year. I did not know until this happened that the FHA is a co-equal branch of government with Congress which passed the law and the President who signed the law.

Of course the FHA person in charge of appraisal policy is not even an appraiser, so nothing that the FHA does is surprising.

.......Are crappy certified appraisers more qualified than crappy licensed appraisers?

It is a step in the direction of improving the profession. Certified requires more education. It is an unfortunate step forward for ethical, knowledgeable and good Licensed appraisers.

There has to be a starting place to improving the profession and this is now the starting place.

If you are an ethical, good appraiser you are a victim of the new minimally trained skippy's who are ruining YOUR profession.
