Got an email that the OREAB will now require reciprocal appraisers to submit CE instead of only a letter of good standing from their state. OK, since OK is a 3 year cycle and Arkansas is a 2 year cycle, how exactly does that work? From what I see, it implies you must take 2 CE courses ANNUALLY??? I don't know. I will have to ask for more details. Makes no sense, and my license expires in Nov. I am thinking of not renewing if it is too complicated. I am going to let my AR license expire in Jun of 2026 anyway. I been in this rodeo long enough and when the AR license expires the OK license gets sent back anyway.

I'm surprised they didn't require the CE certificates for renewal to start with.

We have to submit CE for renewal regardless if the license was obtained by reciprocity or not. DC and Virginia are two year cycle and MD is three year cycle.

I don't see it that way. Texas is two year as well. So I take 28 hours for the two year Texas cycle - then take an additional 14 hours for the 3rd year of the OK cycle. I've got 42 for the OK recert, and I've got 14 toward the 'new' TX renewal...

I just completed USPAP and it wasn't too bad. My bad for not doing it sooner. I have 14 hours free with OREP and they just added a new class.

I did 14 hours with calypso and working on a brief historical stroll though America's architectural styles.

I think it was somehwere in neigborhood of $328 for two classes with calypso that included USPAP continuing eductation class.

I have to renew in December which means I still have 21 hours to complete in TN. I am enjoying this class that you take at own pace on America's architectural styles. Have to watch a bunch of videos and pass quizes but the instructor is good and knows his stuff on history of America's architectural styles.

Frances Flinigan is his name I think, He knows his history on American architectural styles and their origins back to like 1600 A.D.

He is good instructor. I probably misspelled his name.

Maryland is also on a 3 year cycle, but the CE requirements are compatible with the states that are on a 2 year cycle (I used to also be certified in DC and Virginia).....you need complete the 7-hour USPAP every two years and need to average 14 hours of CE every year (42 hours every three years in Maryland versus 28 hours in the states with 2-year renewals). I found it very easy to time everything so that I could meet the MD CE requirements and the DC/VA CE requirements without taking any additional classes and suspect that the same thing is possible for you to meet the OK & AR requirements.
