refinishing concrete floors

Bar

Well, I hijacked my own thread! :)

But I had a 70' long back porch, of which half of it is now a fully enclosed, airconditioned cantina/bar. My retirement project!

This job has driven me to drink, so amateur bartending is my next profession. :)

Most folks in our area that build homes with scored and stained concrete floors are doing it because it is cheaper.

It can still always be covered with tile, carpet or hardwood......even if you don't want to refinish the concrete.

I personally have added a bar to my home, enclosed the back porch, and I scored and stained the concrete. Lots of work! I heartily recommend a professional with all the right equipment. Looks good now, but had I known!
However, that being said, it is understood that every few years I will have to refinish the sealer, which is clear.

The ones that are real ugly is where they rip up the carpet, tack strips and try to stain that and make it look good. Ain't gonna happen! :)

Cheaper than what? Its expensive to hire out for it labor being the expensive part. I stained the floors in my house and the stain was not expensive but yeah it was a lot of work and messy.

The appeal of stained concrete floors in this market fall somewhere between tile floors and hard wood floors.
