Repurpose Old Church

You have a unique property in a small town. It will be difficult to find someone perfectly qualified for that. You should call some professionals and talk to them. See if they have a lot of experience appraising or brokering this type of property. Brokers will know the current buyers in the area better than an appraiser. An appraiser will be better at analyzing the last time a church sold and what happened to it.

around here they are either left to collapse in on themselves or there are a few turned residential. here is the latest church home i appraised

Wow, I have not seen this. The churches here are too big to turn into homes. Would be cool to convert a church to a home though. One downside, You will have people walking up and trying to open the front door on sunday mornings :)

Residential most probable, but have seen them converted to an antique store. As to residential, some of these come out very nice.

There's a church here that was converted form a bar night club that used to have concerts.
Have only been inside once and that was when it was used as a night club. The Country Club, iirc.

There is a neat one in my extended "rural" market area that was converted to a "higher end" restaurant as much as it could be "high end" in BFO. Local bands on Fridays and Saturdays with better food than you would typically see in BFO. Seen it before and it works in an upward moving market and will fail @ the next downturn. The key is how rural is rural ....
