I need a dependable website to identify phone callers who don't leave messages. I previously used a free service which I can no longer find. I get 4 to 6 calls per day from numbers that don't leave messages, most of these are spam but I have also gotten orders by returning these calls.
I am willing to pay for the service but I don't want to waste money, any suggestions?

I simply use gooogle.

Pitt/Cali/or unknown area code on the cell, I instantly search for results. Sometimes the first/second hit, if not always on the first page.

Google the number.
Then block them.
Chances are it is not someone you want to hear from.
Yeah, Salesman! :leeann:

Some calls are only there to log in the hours you are home answering the phone, so that data can be sold to the real telemarkers, who then have a list of the days and times you have previously answered the phone.

Google the numbers. The worst offenders can usually be found on "who calls me". com. But not all offenders.

If it's a homeowner, the land line should show up in the white page search from google. Cell phones are harder to find.

I just copy and paste the offending number into Google, after you get used to looking at the search results you can quickly identify which numbers are spam and which might deserve further investigation. Most people are cranky and immediately post those offending spam phone numbers to different online spam directories which are indexed by Google. Once I am very confident that I never want to hear from that number again I just hit block on my voice over IP service and wait for the next six or seven to come in tomorrow. But they WILL be different numbers.

If it's private/unlisted, the details won't show up in any public search. The only way you can get that information, that I know of, is if you personally know someone who works for the number's phone carrier and will give it to you. Paid sites tell you they can get this information, but I would not trust handing over my credit card to these types of companies. If you do get a hit on google it most likely will be from a site that shares users experiences. Sometimes it's not current or you will get different responses, but you kind of get an idea.
