Doing an appraisal of your own house is an excellent sample to provide, and identify the intended use as wanting to know the current market value of the property. Redact nothing, yet still don't sign that report. If you have no problem showing this prospect picures of your house, and sharing an opinion of market value, then no big whoop.
As for other samples with heaps of blacked-out identifiers......this prospect is NOT going to read or look over those reports, anyway ! Your greater measure for anticipated success would be to get that prospect on the phone......and then tell them......O.K., interview me ! What questions do you want to ask me ? What do you want to know about my philosophy and practice of valuing various properties in my market ?
Actually.....you'll be interviewing THEM by discovering what types of questions are their motivations. You already know what questions they could ask that might be inappropriate. From that perspective you will be in much more control over creating any future working relationship....and you will reduce the chances of becoming a victim, as stark as that thought might sound.
