JRS, thank you for introducing me to 419eater.com!!! Wow some great stuff on there! Man some people have made bating the scammers their hobby, lol...good good stuff.

It's called a 419 scam which is named after the legal code in Nigeria. There is a pretty good website, 419eater.com, which is pretty good for those slow days in the office. These folks at 419eater harass the scammers and make them jump through all kinds of hoops in hopes of getting some money. Check it out.

It really is!! Those guys have even gotten one of the scammers to get something tattooed on them!! :peace:

I received the same initial email and just never followed through on the request.

I received the same identical email with same instructions and the check also for the same property and was suppose to be for this past friday (3/28/08). Same identical with date and instruction. I sensed something not being right when they never return with a answer about more info that I needed to process this "appraisal request". So when I got the check I went directly to Wachovia (as per check) to cash it and was told that It was not good and apparently there were more info in their (wachovia) computer about this account that they couldnt tell me. should I report this? and where. I am glad that this is post it here but I believe it should be post it in more noticeable for everyone to see as soon they open this site.

I've gotten several of those request lately, but not just for appraising. They are hitting all business with that old worn out scam. Problem is, some people still fall for it as they've never heard of it.

I got a call the other day from someone I couldn't understand, stating his company owed me $350 for an appraisal I did a while back. I just had to give my social security number and bank account number, and he would wire me the money right away..........yeah right!
