If you use Total Mobile keep an eye out, looks like it's worth a try. It solves the biggest pain point every one of the floor plan sketch solutions have: This is real time sketching with no need to wait hours or days until someone sends back a mangled version of what you observed in the field.

How do you stop to get around closed fences?

ANSI compliant to a tenth of a foot?

Wow that looks amazing! Have to give that a try.

Pretty much have to work around that by measuring form the other side then closing the sketch.

I test drove it, not bad. I was off around .1 to .2 for every point, I'm not sure if it's me not setting the target correctly or if I have to get closer for more accuracy. At present it's only good for exterior dimensions, you will have add garages, patios, etc. the old way.

Well worth trying out and keeping up with.

My son just tried it on his house. It came up 0.05 off across the front and back, 0.4 off front to back. He is going to try it again later. The fence is a challenge and might be why it is off front to back.

How does it work on second floors? Gotta grab the Disto for porches, patios and garage?

Good question, I haven’t tried yet but will update when I do.

From what I see, yes it’s old school for porches, etc. Keep in mind it’s still beta so that may be coming or I’m just missing something.

apple uses lidar, that how it measures. most other don't have it, but some of the newer other phones, etc, are starting to include lidar. it's a certain type of radar.
