Sending & receiving texts on a PC

... It caused me to remember the last time I lost my iphone and the annoyance of getting a replacement, syncing, etc and decided it may be a good idea to set up the PC text option on my PC before I need it....

This came in handy today. Lost my phone and with no landline to help locate it, I emailed a text to my fam for them to call it. The only thing is I had to wait for them to check their texts.

Is there a way I can call my phone from a computer? FB messenger maybe?

If using android and chrome you can use "find my device" (just type it in a google search). Not sure on apple but assume there's something.

iPhone has the find my phone feature that when properly set up can locate the ph from a computer
