The HUD.gov website says that we have to establish a User ID for Appraiser Roster(http://www.HUD.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/appr/establish.cfm) via FHA Connection(https://entp.HUD.gov/clas/index.cfm).
However, per the website "If your email and mailing addresses have changed since you applied to the roster, you must ask FHA to update your record before establishing a User ID. Please send your correct information to AppraiserRoster@HUD.gov and put "Updates" in the subject line."
So that is exactly what I did. I sent my updated license showing my current address to AppraiserRoster@HUD.gov.
The response from HUD: "FYI -As of 10/1/08 FHA is no longer responsible for renewing FHA Appraiser license or updating personal information, it is now your responsibility. Go to FHA Appraisers website at www.HUD.gov/appraisers click on "establish a User ID" and obtain a User ID so you will stay active on the roster. If you do not obtain an User ID and on your next renewal your license expire, your status will be terminated from the FHA Roster. NO EXCEPTIONS!"
This is what I was trying to do. I was following the instructions on the www.HUD.gov website, which states "you must ask FHA to update your record before establishing a User ID. Please send your correct information to AppraiserRoster@HUD.gov and put "Updates" in the subject line". This is why I emailed my license in the first place.
I understand that I have to establish this FHA connection ID, but I was simply following the instructed protocol before applying for one. What am I doing wrong?
In the mean time, I signed up to FHA connection and received the message "The request for an FHA Connection ID for FRANK ZAPPIA was rejected for the following reason(s):
Reinstate not allowed by this process
Can someone please explain this to me? There is nothing to reinstate because I am already on the FHA approved roster.
So my question is how do I get my renewed license to HUD?
