So, I got a several mass solicitation e mails yesterday from SingleSource addressed to "Hello". They were seeking bids on enhanced reviews for several properties. They attached complete PDF's of the subject appraisals with no information whited out. I have never seen it done that way. Not that I would be ever interested in doing business with SingleSource, but I was curious if blast emails of appraisal info to parties not engaged in a work assignment violates Confidentiality. Is this typical now?

I give them kudos for providing the report without asking, but quickly take it back after they disclose their half-price fee.

Pass.

If you are talking about USPAP confidentiality, that is between the originating appraiser and his/her client.

I would think that email-blasting a consumer's private residence appraisal to unsolicited parties (be they appraisers or something else) would violate some consumer privacy rule.
I take it you are not on this review-entity's approved list? I ask that because if you were, you may have signed a confidentiality agreement with that entity that would put the onus of confidentiality on you.

E mails addressed to "Hello"?
What? That is not my name, send to spam without opening. :guns:

Funny thing is I thought registered SingleSource as spam weeks ago. They have the technology now to unspam themselves.
