There was a thread a few months ago about sinus/allergy problems & some posters swore by a saltwater up the nose solution. I was almost ready to try it, but, here is what I tried to post on the thread (but the thread ids too old to continue posting to it, I guess:shrug:

I hope this helps someone that doesn't like the thought of snorting salt water, etc.

Enough of this up a nose with a rubber hose salt water, etc. For the past 2 weeks I have woken up with a sinus headache from help.

My shower water filter, hopelessly plugged up with minerals, it takes the bathroom shower too long to simulate a sauna. On my way back from Home Depot, (to purchase a replacement filter cartridge) I stopped at target, intending to merely buy a $15 mist style vaporizer. One doesn't keep the bedroom sufficiently moist now for my sinus problem, given that the furnace kicks on a few times overnight.

Well, they were all out of the cheap vaporizers, but my eye caught this personal sinus mister. Holy mother, it was $150 for this Chinese made toy, but I got it anyway, my sinus needs had been great & I was in the process of losing clients due to my limited productivity. You just can't crank out reports when not thinking clearly.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C30TNKI/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687442&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B006IM9JHY&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0CSVHPV80FKYTEJEAB15

Zyrtec...lots and lots of Zyrtec. Prescription strength. And antibiotics if really bad and you get a bacterial infection as well.

Salt water with a little bicarbonate of soda and snort it. Works for me.

Worst allergies in years... I think it's from all rain we got here. Wait it out... I use the saline nose solution and Allegra.

Pretty miserable here too. Productivity is cut in half because every other minute you are grabbing for a tissue or going to wash the sneeze slime off your hands. Have been fairly successful with Allegra until the past couple months. Will have to look into the other alternatives mentioned in this thread, thanks for posting.

I use a Q-Tip to apply the saline solution up my nose. A dust mask also helps.

Get off most conventional, pharma drugs, other than those that are life sustaining, and get on an organic diet. For sinus/allergies, find an organic honey producer. I buy a gallon every six months or so. Drink it everyday mixed with ORGANIC, non-distilled, apple cider vinegar (with the 'mother' in it) available at most health food stores, cut it with some purified water and drink about two table spoons per day and watch what happens.

I saw what happened when they threw water on the wicked witch. I'd like to see what happens to someone else. It sounds like s good home remedy for gout:shrug:

I have chronic congestion from allergies and my left sinus tells me when a low pressure system is forming 1,000 miles away. I've done all the OTC allergies pills with limited success. However, Nasacort spray works miracles. It also helps me breathe better at night which is a blessing for both me and my wife.

I took it-2 puffs in each nostril, gently inhaled.

It was really comforting to read these testimonials s to side effects after ingestion: http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=19798&name=NASACORT&page=2&PerPage=60

I'll report back,

Sincerly, your crash test dummy.

I've used it off and on and on with no side effects side effects. Did you hear that? What?
