I was hoping to end the week with a soft landing, but such is not the case. My last inspection was
for a brick colonial which was typical in all respects save two. It had a megga inground pool and it
was owned and built by an ornery “Fightin’ Texas Aggie”. He followed me every step of the way
and made sure I had every paper involved since pre-construction. I hate to stereotype, but he was
crewcut, pick-up, bass boat, gun rack and even had a goat roper logo bumper sticker for some
unknown micro-brewery in Houson. There is such a thing as Texas nice and Texas mean.....he was most certainly the latter. He was muttering a lot of numbers which were about 30
grand higher than the number that was bouncing around in my head. I can’t bail out of this one
either, it’s my best client. I’m afraid this one is going to be a bull ride, only I’ll be the bull and Aggie
with the crewcut will be the cowboy. I’m not dodging it, in fact on CD right now I’m playing Robert
Earl Keen’s Fightin’ Texas Aggie. I won’t enjoy the weekend until this one is gridded up and
gone. I just hope Aggie boy doesn’t find out where I live. To be continued.
