"My First Place" to be exact; anyway, this couple was about to buy a manufactured house, and they were going FHA; the deal fell through, and they were adding up the money that they lost on the deal, inspection $zzz, title search $zzz, appraisal $175, wait, what was that?!!?

I hit the rewind on the DVR, (oh DVR how I love thee), anyway, yep $175 for a manufactured FHA appraisal.

Please, oh please, tell me that wasn't the entire fee, that someone, somewhere, ate A LARGE portion of that fee.

If the deal fell through due to value issues with the home they should be looking at home much they saved not how much they "lost".

That's not how the buyers look at it though. I can't count the numbers of times I've done appraisals, come in below the value, and the BUYER was disappointed I couldn't make it work.

There's only one reason it is the way it is: It's not their money, it's someone else's.

Absolutely!

If it were their money, they would be thanking you.

We are the gatekeepers and it can be a thankless job. Keep up the good work!

:peace:
