So is the flu...All, some, whatever - the reason appraisers are "suddenly okay with it" is a deadly contagion threat - is that a good enough reason?

What kills me is the uproar (from appraisers) over allowing 'non-interested' parties to perform the interior inspection (prior to Covid). Now, all of a sudden, appraisers are ok with biased parties providing the information (homeowners)...![]()
"Interior photos are required, use all available sources required in a typical interior assignment."
One more reason to charge the same as the good ole 1004.
The comp photos are provided by a RE agent whose commission is based on the outcome of the appraisal. Few argue that that is not acceptable. Appraisers have met their worst enemies and it is themselves.
Good catch. I was primarily posting to address WHY the photos were being requested. I edited it to highlight the last sentence as wellCorrect Danny. But, the last sentence of that FAQ reads: "Except for the required front photo, for photos that are not available, an appraiser may include a photo of a statement saying that the photo was not available."
Just wanted to make sure appraisers are aware of this. It sounded like the original poster might not be aware.
There is no requirement for the front photo to be taken by the appraiser. From the same FAQs:Well that's confusing. Why is it called a desktop if a front photo is required? Wouldn't that make it an exterior?
