Little help here, folks. Can anyone tell us what states (if any!) have reciprocity with Florida?? Googling hasn't helped much so we figured go to the "experts"!

This is probably too simple a response, but your state's regulatory agency website does not contain this information?

Could not find it anywhere in the website and we're pretty savvy in that regard.... hence our posting here! Thanks for your reply, however.

Only other comparable flat states have reciprocal agreements....try
Kansas.

Need a "letter of good standing"

If you are licensed or certified in Florida, there are quite a few states that will accept a "letter of good standing" from the DBPR. You will need to check with the state you are intending to work in. I know first hand that Arkansas and South Carolina accept such letters. However, it does not work in reverse.

ah.......so much for relo to Key West. darn.

The only state Florida reciprocates with at this time is Georgia.

Not true. Florida has a "mutual recognition" with Georgia, that is not the same as recprocity.

Florida has mutual recognition agreements for certified appraisers with 3 states: Alabama, Georgia & Kentucky. The intent of these agreements is to recognize the education and experience that real estate appraisers have acquired in another state. These agreements apply to nonresidents licensed in other jurisdictions.
Appraisers can qualify for an equivalent type certification in Florida if they meet the following qualifications:
  • Must file a properly completed application for real estate appraiser with all supporting documentation.
  • Must hold an equivalent real estate appraiser license in the other state, which was obtained by virtue of completing the education, experience requirements, and have passed that state’s licensing examination.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must hold a valid, current and active real estate appraiser license in good standing issued by the real estate appraiser licensing authority from the state from which the applicant is applying.
  • Applicant must not be a resident of the State of Florida.

Just got certified in PA with a DBPR Letter of Good Standing.
