Subject Meets Mpr Or Mps Statement...

Actually I did FHA for about 10 years, but it has been about 7 or more since I've done one. The fact I "did" what I was supposed to does not mean I didn't recognize the stupidity of self-declaratory statements that are hollow.

The STBTCB - (straw that broke ...) was when I DID the crawl space inspection, found an issue, and all they wanted to whine about was a borrower with the same name as I had...no kin, I had never even heard of him...

So,...
Question - We know the appraiser must inspect the attic by head and shoulder. I have been told that HUD does not require the appraiser to comment they inspected the attic via head and shoulder, therefore, how can the DE underwriter verify it was inspected. I have been told that I should not ask the appraiser to comment on appraisal that Attic was inspected by head and shoulder. Please advise

Answer- The appraiser is aware the attic inspection is a requirement. It is not the lenders responsibilty to assure the attic was inspected

Again, does a declarative statement "prove" anything? Is it impossible to lie? The stupidity of making such a meaningless statement should speak for itself.

When were you under my house?

FHA does not require any statement but that the appraiser follows guidelines and letters and comment only if something does not meet these items. The monkeys at the AMC and lenders require all the BS. I can see why but don't make it seem like its a HUD condition.

you only have that 1 thing in a FHA report to call meaningless, useless, redundant, outdated, no sense, yada yada. life is easier to just do the stupid than tormenting your brain.

I personally take a picture & include it in my report, pictures don't lie.

A couple of young guys came back from Vietnam about 1969 and went to UC Berkely for a couple of years and then moved up to the redwood forests in a very remote area of north Sonoma County. They built a little empire on about 40 acres under a relaxed building code that was available at the time.

It also had two illegal houses built on blue line creeks and assorted other structures. :eyecrazy:

How can they require anything? Isn't the DEU the only one that can ask about these?

I hesitate to disagree with someone from Jesse Ventura's territory, but FHA's requirements are their minimum requirements (says so right on the cover): a mortgagee can make additional requirements that are not contrary to those requirements. A mortgagee or its AMC can require the property must be inspected within X days of receipt of the order and delivered within Y days, for example. Seems to me this is another of those assignment condition issues: if you don't like the condition, don't accept the requirement.
