Oops--tenth of a foot--it is my husband that measures to the nearest tenth of an inch!

When I put it to Apex, I'm not searcning around for sketch paper, it's right on the folder.

Interesting. I use my card stock, thick graph paper as a separator between stuff that is actually going to be going into the report and the other workfile stuff. I'd be lost for awhile if I tried to do it without the graph paper.

Steve Owen - Nice Addenda comment on GLA/Measurement standards.

I also use the ANSI standards & measure to the nearest 1/10 foot. The hard part is to explain why your report says the house is only two bedrooms when the homeowner says they have six. Two on the main level, two in the 6' high upstairs (which the homeowner thinks you totally missed even though there is an adjustment for finished attic) - and two in the basement. Gee - and the appraiser says the house is only 1000 square feet, but we have 3000 (including that attic & basement).

Perhaps we should provide a copy of ANSI to all the homeowner's! ;)

JoAnn,

Dang, I was really wanting to see one of your sketches, 43.45'.

I always do my hand sketch on the back of the file folder then transfer to apex when I get in the office. I use the first page of a URAR in the file. I do not like using a bunch of different peices of paper. They tend to get lost.
