Targeting the "For Sale By Owner" market

there are websites and magazines for sale by owner in supermarket, mabye take in ad in one, ( the ad can be geared to buyers as well, an apprasisal before they make an offer. ) lso can contact the owners with those ads re their email addresses, see where it gets you!! I personally am too lazy to knock on doors plus it's kind of pathetic sort of like selling Avon? no offense to Avon, but still. Also, very time wasting who knows when they are home. People don't typically like to be called at home, imo try emails and ads and realtor contacts good luck!

I have had some luck in the past by getting to know a local fsbo website owner who lists peoples houses for them (kind of like www.forsalebyowner.com). He gives them my name and tells them to call me if they are interested in getting an appraisal to set the price. Its worth the effort.

I have tried to tap into this market for both appraisals and auctions. Spent a few thousand dollars on marketing with out any response to speak of.

they appear to be a different breed of seller.
