Tesla Powerwall batteries

Does the power wall have anything to do with the car? I was under the impression is only stores electricity in the event of an outage.

In general most Tesla solar systems installed on homes can also be used to charge the Tesla or actually almost any electric vehicle. In Green places like CALI--Typical Tesla Roof and car guys live in very expensive neighborhoods where a $40,000 system is often less than 2% to 3% of the homes value. Most buyers get 1/4 to 1/2 back in Federal tax credits so out of pocket cost is say $20,000 to $25,000. In my area its not considered an improvement and buyers love Tesla products it's kinda like a cult phenomena. Since each solar system is different its really impossible to extract an adjustment based on other comps with Solar because percentage wise its so small and some older units are virtually worth almost zero. I took all the green courses and frankly I found their analysis to be complete BS when you try to apply it in the real world . I use a percentage based adjustment of 2% to 3% cost new which recognizes the Solar benefit but does not over-inflate the value. This is really very similar to in-ground pools-work shops etc.

Powerwall is nothing more than a storage battery for Tesla PV systems.
Fernando thought it may have been a Flux Capacitor and was dreaming of the old movie back to the Future and he envisioned his purchase of a Tesla Vehicle --I know he is going to get one he no just has to convince the boss his wife : )

The Tesla Powerall unit looks cool. Yeah, it looks like I can put it on as a backpack and fly into the air. At least not in my life time.

Today I saw my sister and her house also has 2 powerwall battery units. Apparently, 2 of these units are not enough to charge a Tesla. I think she said it takes like 9 of them. Wow.
The units and solar panels are only enough to run the house.
Also, she said when I'm ready to buy a Tesla, she can get some benefits for referrals.
She also has Volt and Prius but she loves her Tesla. Tesla looks very tempting.

My guess is that amenity is worth a lot more in Fernando's local than in most other areas of the nation. Maybe equal to the costs.

Yeah but.
Do they catch on fire like their cars?

Pretty sure they're Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) in the Powerwall and Lithium Cobalt (LiCoO2) in the cars. The latter catches fire if overheated, the former is more stable, but heavier.

And you cannot put out a fire, it simply re-ignites. Two fires in Tesla fires required about 200,000 gallons of water.

There isn't a cobalt mine in America. One lithium mine is proposed. So we're going to get it from where? How soon before we are no more than a satellite state to the Chinese?
