The Impact of D.O.G.E. on the Appraisal Profession

It's your post, you can only gaslight so much
I asked you to paste what you allege and you refuse to , since it was not there.

You seem like a nice person and we often agree on appraisal topics. But I am tired of people saying here I wrote things I never wrote-

FWIW, overall, I think the appraisal field is too small time for DOGE to concern itself with

We have already been neutered on the res lending side, which is the government-backed portion of it. What worse can they do then has already been done?

If Fannie becomes privatized in the future, I have no more idea how that would impact than anyone else would.

I doubt it.

We are part of the swamp,, since we are the appraisers who do GSE work. Musk is all about efficiency in the private sector too. - Translation is cut workers to better profit the CEO and shareholders. He might develop an AI program to perform valuations, and since he is Trump's buddy, he will get a huge government contract for it.

They are not about so-called small governments. They are about how they can shut down any branch that does not directly profit from them and re-configure the former govt sector to a private sector that their cronies will get contracts to run.

Cutting some government waste is not the same thing as gutting the government to enrich billionaires. Their proposal is the latter.

The GSE's idk what will happen to them, but I do not see anything good coming for appraisers - I hope I am wrong. We will be lucky if we are too small to matter and we continue to get some GSE work, if they continue to exist. Withut them, well - how much private work does the avg res license get - a dozen a year perhaps?
Reposting saying gse appraisers are part of the swamp.

If someone hacked your account I would delete this, it exists.

I reposted two more times in case you missed.

This I agree with you on. DOGE is looking for waste and excess neither of which would apply to the appraisal field in general. I would think that policy changes in various areas could make a difference

Its possible there could be effects downstream, but I think its ludicrous to call us part of the swamp when we have no control over government or get government beneifts. Some people like a bloated government that is not accountable to the people, and its fine for them to take that position, I just think its a bad position especially if you are not profiting from it.

I will say the odds of Elon getting rid of CFPB are slim to none. What CFPB does in appraisal arena over next few years will be interesting.

CFPB is not like appraisers. The CFPB can get their hands on any data they want relative to consumer finance. If Elon is in consumer finance business, CFPB can get their hands on Elon's records.

They are strong. If you have a complaint, or want change, CFPB is where you need to target your interest.

I am on their email list now. I think they just got after Walmart today.

CFPB never responded to my emails. I just hope they didn't go in file 13 (a/k/a trash can). The consolation was being put on their email list.

I don't know over next few years who they might tag on consumer finance. It will be interesting.

Artificial intelligence will fuel CFPB in many ways. They have access to any records on consumer finance.

I really have no clue. If you have access to all records from all the major players in the consumer finance industry.

Then you have artificial intelligence to feed it that information on a micro scale?

Think about it.

I may get my wish on separation of fees.

Where is Joan Trice? Peeing in the bushes?

For you new comers. Me and joan had a love/hate relationship. I do miss her. I have a strong feeling she don't want her name brought up in the mess.

Strong feeling. She used to reply every time I challenged her as Eli.

Joan Trice went silent not because of me. Joan is worried about Joan now.
