The Value of Designations for Certified Residential Appraisers

It’s already more valuable for legal work as well as small bank work and corporate/government jobs.

With the intentional watering down of licensing requirements (with the Institute enabling) and elimination of easy residential work the Institute is angling the SRA back to pre licensing territory
I have my own experience to say invalidate your comment. Maybe its different where you are.
 
It depends on the elasticity of the demand curve in your market. The increase in demand for being designated will only increase your income marginally, whereas reducing your fee to increase demand (undercutting your competition) will result in a significant increase in demand and income.

An appraiser only has to be smart enough to get most of the assignments. : )
 
The Appraisal Institute is falling apart, not sure how much longer the Chicago crowd can keep it together. Check out the link below, and before anyone dismisses the allegations the organizer is an MAI who has held national positions with the AI.
