Been saying for some time. Water is a limited resource. Period.

 
To nature, a 25 to 50 year drought is normal and nothing more than the blink of an eye. To the idiots that built in the deserts and other arid areas, it can be the survival (or not) of the city.

When they built Hoover dam, they based their water usage on the 20 year period before they built the dam, one of the wettest times in recent history. If they had looked back, maybe to a 100 year average, they would have realized that the Colorado river does not provide enough water for them to pull out what they do today.

Sam Kinnison comes to mind. Screaming at the top of his voice, “you’re living in a desert, get out of the fn desert!!”
