These are the Morons Who are Running Climate with Our Government

The cost of EV will likely only go up. I can see that many people who can currently afford used gas car vehicles will, in the future, quite possibly (probably?) not be able to afford EV vehicles. They will have to rely on public transportation. Who knows for sure, but that is my rough guess. Or more to the point, arguing with goverment officials that EV vehicles don't really reduce CO2 emissions is a waste of time. They are thinking long-term. They want you on public transportation.

- And that is the true long-term goal.

But the unfortunate fact is that the climate is getting warmer, and alarmingly so. You can argue that the differences are minor, but over time they add up and rather minor changes can have dramatic effects. And yes, there are ups and downs, La Nina's and El Nino's - but the trend is frightening if you are a long-term thinker.

Of course, on this forum, we have some notable short-term thinkers.

So, it WILL be mass transportation for many, especially seniors trying to survive on retirement income.

Instead of having the government follow your vehicle everywhere with ubiquitous traffic cameras, you will just have to worry about getting mugged on some bus, subway or train - or in any case having to sit next to some obnoxious person.

That is highly debatable. NOAA's cooking the books by "adjusting" temperatures. They are not adjusting "heat island" impacted urban temperature stations down, rather by jacking up the temperatures of sites not impacted by the heat island effect.

This would force urbanization and depopulate rural areas where public transportation is a joke. It has enormous ramifications upon agriculture and the production of food for humanity. The temperature trend is a nothing burger. Note too, that population is peaking. In fact, the demographic is against most of the Western countries and much of Asia where child births are down below replacement (2.1 children per woman.) Only (mostly illegal) immigration has allowed the US population to increase. Population is likely to peak at 9 billion or so, which is sustainable.

We were warmer in the time of the pyramids. We were warmer during the Roman era. A chill about 560 AD resulted in the "dark ages" which were replaced by the Medieval Warming Event, which then was replaced by the Little Ice Age. We have slowly warmed since about 1860. Recently a receding glacier exposed a Roman road in Norway complete with Roman artifacts. That was proof that this was a warmer era then and the glacier recovered the road, probably during the "dark ages", or perhaps around the 15th century.

We are at the tail end of the last Glacial period, and have been warming in general since. We are likely about half way to the point where we peak and then cool into the next glacial ice age. And a few million cow farts and autos are not going to change that. One large or mega sized volcano spews more CO2 and SO2 than man although annually it is usually less. SO2 is the more dangerous one as it is the one which blocks sunlight (probably the mega volcano that started the "dark ages" was a heavy sulphur laden one) the worst and creates sulphuric acid - acid rains. It is mega volcanoes that are blamed for sudden cold periods. And cold is far more deadly that heat.

When I was on cruise ship, captain said the ship uses about $40,000 of fossil fuel per hour. And I can see the smoke pollution coming from the rear.
The new cruise ship are exciting in design and modern with more efficient energy sources like solar and wind power (imagine going back to wind energy as in the past).
Have to live long enough to see and sail on these futuristic ships.

I think this rates as propaganda. You are mixing things up as usual. Are we talking about temperature stations or urban areas? Who says we put temperature stations in urban areas? Good grief.

We don't know how accurate temperature estimates of 2000 years ago are.

What is a fact is that the Arctic Ice Cap has shrunk by 50% since the 1950's:

"The Arctic sea ice has been declining rapidly over the past few decades, with the minimum extent of sea ice in September (the end of the melt season) declining at a rate of about 12.8% per decade since satellite observations began in 1979. The Arctic sea ice extent in September 2021 was 4.72 million square kilometers, which is 38% below the 1981-2010 average and one of the lowest extents on record.

The Arctic sea ice has been shrinking even faster in the past 70 years, with studies indicating that the summer sea ice extent in the Arctic may have declined by as much as 50% since the 1950s. While estimates of past sea ice extent rely on proxy data such as ice cores, tree rings, and sediment cores, satellite observations over the past few decades provide more direct and accurate measurements of sea ice extent." (ChatGPT)

And Greenland glaciears are shrinking fast as well.
