Britain has set new energy prices to increase 10% .

The October cap hike is the first since January and will see the average annual electricity bill of a British household rise to some $2,250 from around $2,055. No explanation has been provided for the increase in wholesale electricity costs that prompted the cap hike.\​

For context remember that in Britain, the percentage of British homes with air conditioning is 5%. 90% of US houses have AC. The average size of a house in the UK is between 85 and 100 square meters, or about 900 to 1,100 square feet. Barely half the size of US houses. And the average annual cost of electricity in the US was $1,644 per year.​

The reason isn’t a mystery. Joe Biden’s policies are having not the slightest effect on climate change and yet somebody will still have to pay Ford’s $130,000 in losses per electric vehicle in the first quarter. This sum, a calculation shows, is equal to $64.80 per gallon of gasoline saved over four years of average driving. And yes, this amounts to a ludicrously costly subsidy to somebody else to use the gasoline that EV drivers are paid to forgo.

Voilà, the flaw in the Biden strategy from the get-go, which completely defeats the goal of reducing emissions.
Regular readers may feel vindicated by a new study this week in the prestigious journal Science. It examines 1,500 “climate” policies adopted around the world and finds only 63—or 4%—produced any emissions reductions. Even so, press accounts strained to muddy the study’s simple lesson so let’s spell it out: Taxing carbon reduces emissions. Subsidizing “green energy” doesn’t.

In fact, this should be old hat. One of the most cited papers in climate economics is 2012’s “Do alternative energy sources displace fossil fuels?” by the University of Oregon’s Richard York. His answer: not “when net effects are considered.”

Mr. York and a colleague returned with a 2019 empirical paper showing that while “renewable energy sources compose a larger share of overall energy production, they are not replacing fossil fuels but are rather expanding the overall amount of energy that is produced.”

Funny that the global climate hysterians are panicked because they predicted a record amount of hurricanes and the season has been rather lackluster. Now it could change. Certainly, Katrina didn't hit until September and the season is 2 more months long, but it's going to have to bust its butt to make that record. And despite all the pop magazines claiming the opposite, the UN's own International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) made it plain for over 25 years that they couldn't find any correlation of "climate change" and hurricanes, nor tornadoes, nor floods, nor rainfall patterns, nor sea level change...blah blah blah.

Latest scam is the groundwater will be too hot to drink by 2100. Idiotic on the face of it. If the temperature rose 30 degrees, then it would still take centuries to warm the earth down where most groundwater comes from. And it is totally irresponsible to suggest the earth will warm up more than 1 or 2 degrees C over the next 75 years. And that rise is not given. The earth's temperature has risen about 1.5 degrees C since the end of the Little Ice Age (about 1850) and that is questionable due to the lack of thermometers worldwide as well as their accuracy before the last century.

Hey wait a minute, isn't the earth's core very molten hot. And they have discovered more water under the mantel than on top of it. That molten heat will surely bring all the water to steam heat and cooks us all one day. But that's not climate change, that tectonic change. But by then, all the wealthy and government people will have been moved to the moon, or mars, to live happily.

I also just read an article that coffee is causing climate change. Soon enough, they don't know when to stop.
