Anyone claiming that today's scientific magazines are the "real' scientists are badly informed or are liars...maybe both. The global warming scare is classic. There is no real climate crisis even if the earth is warming up slightly and very slowly. And these so-called science magazines are basically shills for leftists. No truer expression of that is the hallowed (now hollowed out) Scientific American which had the editor resigning in lieu of being fired for a racist, bigoted rant about conservatives. Tell me again about how science is a discourse of ideals in an open forum. Nature, Science, and Scientific American have long been anti-discourse on the subject of climate. Anyone not believing the BS shoveled at them from the left is a "denier." Sure they are. Just as Wegener was a crackpot for proposing Continental Drift. For why Archaeologists were forced to swallow the "Clovis First" fraud for 100 years or face exclusion from teaching jobs. Science at its worst.

Laura Helmuth is resigning as editor-in-chief of Scientific American magazine following an expletive-filled rant about Donald Trump voters.

Posting on Bluesky, an X rival, [note - Bluesky has about 14.5 million total users, while X said in March about 250 million people using it daily]. Helmuth said Thursday that she’s “decided to leave Scientific American after an exciting 4.5 years as editor in chief” without mentioning her previous comments. In a series of now-deleted posts on the same platform, she called Trump voters the “meanest, dumbest, most bigoted” group and “fascists” following the former president’s reelection last week. Her comments went viral on X and were criticized on the increasingly right-wing platform.

Of course, she claims it was her opinion and not SA's but you can bet Scientific American will suffer a further loss in readership.

Al Bore, the man with a cub reporter history and mouthpiece for spending trillions on climate that will accomplish nothing, shrilly claimed at COP 29 “This was a very extreme drought in China in the middle of this year, and what’s happening in the Amazon" as "proof" global warming was real.

Of course, what is stupid is that there isn't a single year in known history where drought has not and did not occur at one time or another. Nor are there any parts of the world where floods do not occur. In fact, sometimes floods precede drought and vice versa. It's just more stupidity about an ever-changing climate.

The Sahara was once lush and green. It has nothing to do with camel farts. The northern USA and all of Canada was once covered by huge Ice sheets. Antarctica once grew green plants. The mammoths and Mastodons roamed the USA less than 10,000 years ago. What climatic change killed them, and dire wolves, and saber-toothed tigers, ground sloths, etc.

Gore is a useful idiot for the purpose of creating a great world government where free speech is banned, scientific discourse is dictated by government edict, trillions will be spent to reverse the irreversible and blame it all on "big oil" and humans wanting a better more comfortable existence. Meanwhile Al Gore and his ilk will fly their Falcon jets to the far reaches of earth spewing that dreaded evil, carbon dioxide, which is only making the world greener as crops thrive quite well in amounts triple that of current levels.

A bit of weather factoid. The worst and most deadly tornado in American history was in 1925. It was an exceedingly large tornado covering 3 states. Starting in Missouri, it jumped the Mississippi River and killed about 700 people there and in Illinois and Indiana.

But the second worst tornado is listed as the Natchez, MS tornado of 1840 where more than 300 people were killed. The count is uncertain simply because slaves were not counted for the most part and it is likely any number of such slaves died being sheltered at most in houses that were little more than barns. Imagine the death toll had the tornado struck today. It would be in the thousands just as the March 25, 1925 tornado would probably kill well into the thousands. Those same locations have multiple the population there then.

Hint. The idea that climate change is causing larger tornados has zero evidence to support it. Just as the Helene flooding isn't one of several such flood events that has hit Asheville from the past. While these floods are rare, they are not unprecedented.
