These are the Morons Who are Running Climate with Our Government

No, germany and england have bad immigration issues that they seem to not fix. And british law will arrest me for saying that.

The spain and port blackout was interesting. It started in one place and cascaded to total country black out in 20 seconds. Don't quite understand, but the systems could not re boot fast enough, there was no energy generating to keep it pushing at the failures.

I don't think anybody ever saw this coming. More idiot savant gov officials causing a disaster. How the climate righeous fall.

It is amazing that the world's stupidest government - that of California - has managed to shot itself in the foot with another act of stupidity by demanding all the refineries carry a minimum stock of gas to avoid any price shocks. Really? Guess what is going to happen in the fall when Phillips 66 shuts down the AL refinery? Then follow that with the Valero Refinery closing in 2026. All thanks to stupidity of a government.

And, to add insult to injury, the refiners are stuck with legacy costs and taxes for years while for years, Kayaks protesting the very existence of the product that their stupid KAYAKS ARE MADE FROM try to block oil tankers from entering many refinery ports.

Last year, another energy company, Phillips 66, announced it will close its Los Angeles oil refinery in late 2025 due to questions about its long-term sustainability. As a result of refinery closures, there’s a supply crunch anticipated at the end of this summer in California, reported Argus Media.
Governor Gavin Newsom has asked the California Energy Commission to “redouble the state’s efforts to work closely with refiners” and by July 1 recommend changes to the state’s approach to ensure it has adequate fuel supply.
“I am directing you … to reinforce the State’s openness to a collaborative relationship and our firm belief that Californians can be protected from price spikes and refiners can profitably operate in California — a market where demand for gasoline will still exist for years to come,” wrote Newsom in a letter April 21.
Rich Walsh, executive vice president at Valero, said the company is having meetings with the CEC to “minimize the impacts that would result from the loss of the refinery.”

The Iberian Peninsula blackout was a test of the reliability of renewables. It failed.

Spanish authorities were experimenting with how far they could push their reliance on renewable energy before the Iberian Peninsula was hit with a massive power outage last month.

As people wait for more answers on what caused the power cut that disrupted tens of millions of lives across Spain and Portugal, several have questioned Spain's heavy reliance on renewable energy sources as it plans to phase out nuclear reactors. Spain's socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has rejected such criticism, asking for patience while the government investigates the causes of the historic blackout. Spain’s electric grid operator Red Eléctrica de España pinned it on a significant and unprecedented drop in power generation.

In other news (WSJ),

"GM Invests in V-8 Engines as It Backpedals on EVs

New $888 million plan marks GM’s largest investment in an engine plant

..............
The company said Tuesday its new plan marks its largest single investment in an engine plant and makes Tonawanda its second propulsion plant to produce the sixth generation of V-8 engines.

The plant, located in Buffalo, N.Y., will continue to produce the fifth generation of the engine while it prepares to start production on the new engines in 2027, the company said.

The engines, used in full-size trucks and SUVs, use new combustion and thermal management innovations to improve performance while reducing emissions, the company said."

Over the years I've bought a half dozen Grand Cherokees. One time I went up to a V-8 and quickly realized it was fully capable of getting me into trouble.

This is good news. We may see some tasty domestic vehicles rolling off the line, hopefully with modern supercharger technology and a who cares how much it sucks down mentality.
