Thinking of Becoming an Appraiser

Ok, I got into the business in 1970. IMO, licensing killed the profession. Go do something else. Financing in an auto dealership, investment brokerage, etc. in any of a thousand jobs, there will be better chances of job growth and income. Become a welder, can command high 5,up to 6 digit incomes. See? Better than working late into the night and seeing half your income disappear into licensing fees, overhead.

I was recently graduated from college, looking for a better job, put my resume on Indeed and they reached out to me for an interview.

Stick to a career which requires a 4 year degree. Res. Appraising no longer does, so you will be competing on wage with folks with far less education moving forward. Best to at least be competing with folks with the same level of college as you had.
