Agree but thats Biden's Administrations dream that we become like Canadians or French. Thank God President Dud is about to go down as he fails at everything he touches. Imagine instead of going himself to Europe to meet on diplomacy he sends VP Harries who cant even deal with Mexican Border much less a European crisis. Also how insulting it is to send a feckless-worthless -ineffective female. Joe Biden showed his true cards and he doesn't care about Ukraine which is fine neither do I --but I would not pretend to care if I didn't. He was already the laughing stock of the World but now he has confirmed his ineptness. I hope Putin shows the world that he is a better leader than Biden.
Every time I think you might be onto something you dash my hopes with statements like that. Homegrown nationalism is one thing, marching behind Vladimir Putin is something else entirely.
There is one thing that cannot be allowed to happen as a result of this crisis. Russia should not gain any concessions from the West by threatening to use military force against his neighbors. Russia in fact should be made to pay a price for its aggressive behavior. I would appropriate billions of dollars to distribute the Koran into all the Muslim regions of Russia and billions more for 24-hour a day exposure of Putin's corruption and evilness to be communicated back to the Russian people in the best way possible – be it Internet, radio or carrier pigeon. Someone like Putin is what you end up with when democracy dies..
Russia is now a Pseudo- Democracy just like ours has become . To seal it in the 1993 constitution declares Russia a Democratic, Federative, Law-based State with a Republican form of government. State power is divided among the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Diversity of ideologies and religions is sanctioned, and a state or compulsory ideology may not be adopted. Translated : Sounds not much different than this so called democracy.

Russia has busy weakening the United States in every way possible, destroying faith in our electoral process, engaging in a new arms race for which we have no response and using propaganda & his hydrocarbon monopolies to weaken our alliances to the point where he thinks he can mass tanks and troops against freedom seeking friends of ours. And it is done so simply to stoke the ego of Vladimir Putin in his quest to make "Russia Great Again!". Far from admiring him and joining his cause we should instead be denouncing him, his aims and emphasizing to the world that Russia has absolutely no ideas worth exporting, it is simply a nuclear armed gas station run by an evil whack job and we need to shut down its hydrocarbon exports to the world until they install better leadership.
You eliminate any prospects for diplomacy with this outlook. Is Putin an evil POS? Yes. There are many leaders of nations that are. Ukraine is not our "friend" or even an ally. They are useful to us only as a way to stick our thumb in the eye of Russia if we want to, as in the military aid we have sent them. They are a messed up country-they were cobbled together in a similar way as Yugoslavia was. There has been a separatist movement in parts of the east going on for a decade at least in which thousands have been killed. Our national security interests are not advanced by any type of military altercation over Ukraine. That is the only framework you can use in proper foreign policy--how does an action improve our national interests? If it doesn't, don't do it.
