Those national firms are getting ready

I did sign up with one of these large AMCs and all was well until they told me to give them access to my TALCB account so they could manage my client list for me.

I have been doing this almost 30 years and have never had this request before and am very hesitant to do as they request. I feel it’s over reach on their part

Did you sign up as a vendor? Or a w2 employee?

Give them the clients that don’t send work anymore. If you’ve been in business more than 30 years you have a million of them.

Keep your good ones to yourself.

W2 employee but that doesn’t mean they own me does it?
Depends on your employment agreement.

Yep. That's part of the marketing plan; They and other national firms rope you in, but the real prize is instant access to clients they may not have had before. That's always been the golden key in the appraisal industry, access to client contacts. Once they have the contact info they will work it, and when you leave (trust me most established appraisers leave these firms) they will still work the contact for business. It's an age-old strategy in the appraisal field, trainees leave and work their old mentor's clients, and appraisers leave local firms and work the old clients. Nothing new with how RSDS, True Footage, Accurity, and even Class is doing to gain market share.

They have a contract with UWM, $350 a pop and they know how to work the assignment software (Anow?). That’s why they are looking for staff nationwide. It was hot gossip at the AMC Fest.
What happened to UWM running their own appraisal panel? Did they stop and go back to the AMC's?

Still running their panel through ANOW, just sending everything to RSDS appraisers/runners (and Accurity in some markets) in areas they have coverage in. And I don’t want to get too deep into the gossip from AMC Fest, but the ANOW software can be worked if you know what I mean, and well…….
