My employer allows me to do fee work on the side, just not in the county. They made that very clear from the get go. I can't even take a listing in my county (My dad is a broker). After reading some of the other posts on this site is guess I should have said "My dad is a big bad broker", but you can't knock the family business.

Doug, sorry about asking the same questions. I found a similar post further down the board about 15 minutes after posting this one. I felt pretty sheepish.

Anyway, Thank you all for your help.

You're forgiven, Jason. Many topics have already been disected here; it's sometimes difficult to find them. Try the search feature first and post if you can't find your answer!

Welcome aboard!

Hi, I just got my California Appraiser Trainee lience and I am new to this board. Could someone tell me where I can get a copy of Henry Harrison's guide to the URAR Appraisal Report? I searched at Amazon.com and Barnes&Nobel websites. They indicates that it is not currently avaiable.

Thanks in advance!

Several of my students ordered from FormsandWorms.com and got them immediately.

Is that your real name? How interesting, what is the orgin?

Mike, thanks a lot for your quick reply. By the way, the name on the post is my real name. I am from China.

Ditto for Doug's choice

Appraising the Tough Ones: Creative Ways to Value Complex Residential Properties by Frank E. Harrison, MAI, SRA

Also,

Basic Real Estate Appraisal by Betts and Ely...dated, early 90's very good, available from Amazon or Ebay as a used item cheap. California text book I think.

The Appraisal of Real Estate...expensive but thorough...go thru the other two first. from the Institute but check Amazon for used copy or older edition

"Homes" by Harrison is a good reference book to help you with styles, etc. Also, get a copy of "Fair Lending and the Appraiser" from the Appraisal Institute. It will save you a world of grief. One wrong word can cost you significantly, even your license. Also, see if you can get copies of the basic AI classes 110, 120 and 210. These are excellent beginning courses for the fee appraiser, especially 210.

Good luck.

Roger
