I keep telling people to avoid Windows 11 until mid-summer. Yes, some do have it working. I would say on mostly newer Intel based systems that are not heavily loaded with all kinds of software. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I extend that wait longer. My main problem is my Synology DS1821+, DSM 7.x is having problems with Windows 11.
I have lost respect for Microsoft over the past 8 years. Aside from all the major probems they have had with Azure over the past years, they are getting very pushy in terms of wanting to lock you into their cloud based systems and software. Too pushy. You are lucky you have Windows 10. There are LOT of drivers for a LOT of devices - that still need updating for Windows 11. -- If you need more speed right now, get a faster system, - in which case of course WIndows 11 is more likely to work on it without problems.
-- But they keep coming out with better hardware. Apple is about to announce M2.
Now the thing about Apple Silicon (M1 & M2) is that is runs cooler than an Intel or Ryzen based PC. - And it is small. There is no real competition for a package as small as a Apple Mac Studio. That means your Apple will easily go 10+ years of hard constant use and still be as good as new. Low wattage == Low Heat == Long Life. An M1 Max however, is not really any faster than a Ryzen 5950 or the new Intel I9-12900K, but the latter two will run a lot hotter and require a larget desktop chassis. You should be able to run most Windows based software on Apple with Parallels.
Of course, the other thing is that you cannot upgrade an Apple Mac Studio. You are going to be stuck with whatever you get. The longer you can wait to buy, probably the better. 1T or even 2T doesn't last me that long any more. Rather surprising. In addition SSD on Apple is way more expensive than SSD on non-Intel systems. You cannot upgrade SSD on an Apple Mac Studio any way at all. You can stick in an external drive of course.
