I bought a Belkin device which I connect to my cable box. Now I can watch Cable TV on my iPad anywhere in the house. It saved me additional $8/mo cable box fee. I watch my CNN and traffic updates anywhere even when I'm out of the office. It's great. Any other great devices you'd used?

Several of the major cable/satellite providers allow on-line access to TV service as part of your subscription i.e. ATT-Uverse, Xfinity-Comcast. Another option is a device known as slingbox which works similar to your belkin device.

We have a slingbox. Lets us view our DVR from anywhere with an internet connection. We use it on our boat on the weekends.

Maybe a dumb question, but from the Belkin device (or slingbox), can you change the channel remotely, or do you have to select the channel on the box, then watch it remotely? Thanks!

Heck I just adjust my rabbit ears and watch TV on my DVD player for free :) I'm easily entertained.

With a Slingbox, you can change channels, set programs to record or watch a show you've already recorded. Basically, anything you can do while in front of your TV you can do remotely with a Slingbox. I always carry my IPad & cellular wifi hot spot in my car so if an appointment is late, I can just watch TV in the car.

The Belkin device is attached to the cable box. Anywhere with wifi connection, you can watch and change channel on iPAD. Unfortunately, it's one fixed channel so someone watching TV has to be same on iPAD. I have to fight changing channels when my child wants to watch Disney Channel.
Also, another problem is my older AT&T wifi sometimes crashes because som many computers and tablets are online.
I'm thinking of switching to Comcast internet. It will cost me $49.99 for their fastest internet and digital cable (No Nickelodeon, etc). I don't want an interuption in internet. Anyone had problems switching to Comcast?

Me too. Sometime I actually miss watching Blackhawks games on a grainy 13" B/W.

That's Black and White for the younguns. :rof:
